Most people say that 14-year-old girls need to put on a dress and makeup and look nice. In May, my school is having a dance and I'm going with a few friends. I don't have or want a date. I'm not even buying a dress. In fact, my mom found me a Tuxedo. It's black, white, has a tail and a bow tie. I know that people are going to look at me weird and say things, but they don't know me. So why should I care what they think? I, also, told some guys I was going to try out for the football team next year. They laughed at me and said I would be dead before the first game, but I'm still going to try out.

I think what I'm trying to say is that, no matter what people say you need to believe in yourself because if you don't who will? Even more important is that even if you have one or no friends or everybody is your friend, you can't let people put you down because if you do, then you will most likely stop being yourself because of what someone said. I know from doing it that it's never worth changing for someone who doesn't appreciate you, for you.
