A happy girl born and raised
My whole life changed in just one day
With disbelief, horror, and grief I turned a new leaf
The world was against me now
Nobody could possibly understand how
Just how it feels
To be left behind
Feelings of anger, sadness, and betrayal poisoned my mind
I shut the world out until the day
That day when I finally figured out
Just exactly what the world was about
I discovered that things happen
Good and bad
That the world did not end the day I lost my Dad
Although it hurt I kept on going
All the while knowing
Things happen because they are meant to be
And to change my past would mean to change me
But I still have all that I need
People to love and people who love me
